Artwork by Ingvard the Terrible Rockstar
Inspired by Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Longstocking
Tidbit: Ingvard was inspired by Pippi’s fresh outlook. As he says, “while Pippi is indeed strong (both figuratively and literally!), she’s not stern or serious—she’s always having fun and enjoying life to the fullest. I love that she looks at things from a totally different angle, always questioning the status quo. Great inspiration for anyone, in my book.

Nice! My favorite part are… the stockings!
I loved Pippi growing up for all the same reasons Ingvard lists! Great composition, texture, and depictions of the characters. I love it!
What a great illustration! Bravo, Ingvard the Terrible!
Astrid Lindgren was the favorite author of my childhood. Unfortunately, in the US people are familiar mostly with the Pippi Longstocking, which was my least favorite. Anyone read “The Carlsson, Who Lived on the Roof” ? (Hope I translate it right)
I wonder if it was translated into English at all, but what a great book it was…
