Love this illustration
I like the humor of this illustration. The wavy line of piled-up mattresses and the ladder emphasizes how many layers are there between the princess and the pea. Nevertheless, she is holding her back in pain –And her back has a little bump on it!
amazing!
Very good, I love this!
love your work Sam!
I love this picture, the colours are soft and reflect the storyline well. The details on the mattresses and the wall behind it make it really interesting to look at. Well Done 🙂
Wonderful piece of art work. Original and classic.
Just love your intrepretation!
Amusing and appealing 5/5
A good choice for the website Sam 🙂
I really like Sam’s work but where is the pea ? !
Love this illustration – and your website, Sam. 5/5
I like the Princess’s clear sense of discomfort, and the layers of coloured mattresses with comical dog down below…as the most original and expressive illustration it gets my vote!
Ever since seeing your comic book work when you were a wee nipper, I knew your work was special, and this pic shows it for sure! Gets my vote x
Well done Sam. This is very detailed and interesting to look at as well as humourous. Gets my vote.
I love all of your work Sam, this has loads of atmosphere. Brill.
I love the inclusion of a dog to give a second focal point to the scene, as well as the texture and colours evident in the mattresses, and the deep, foreboding blue walls. A wonderful interpretation of the story!
Subtle and amusing Sam, but not as dark as I was expecting. Very good, though 😉
This is great, I love bold colours and the realistic background. Deffo 5 out of 5 from me.
Definitely 5/5. I could even feel the pea! Jenny
I feel her back pain! Bloody pea!
Sam, this is so imaginative and a wonderful composition. It really tells the story.

I can feel her pain! Don’t know that I would like to sleep in that bed, I would probably roll off in the night! Great sense of movement, and I love the textures.
I love this, great style!
